The scale, height, and complexity of this roof replacement required an innovative engineering solution that prioritised safety, efficiency, and uninterrupted operations.
The existing roof sheeting had deteriorated significantly due to corrosion, making it unsafe to access using conventional roofing methods.
The deteriorated roof required a carefully engineered commercial roof replacement and restoration approach that allowed the work to be completed safely without disrupting operations.
To safely complete the roof replacement, our team designed and engineered a custom 20m x 20m elevated working platform supported by two commercial mast climbers. This groundbreaking approach marked the first time a system of this kind had been successfully implemented anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere.
The innovative platform completely eliminated the need for workers to walk on the fragile roof surface, dramatically reducing the risks associated with working at heights on a 40-metre-high industrial structure. The project attracted the attention of WorkSafe and several government agencies, who visited the site to inspect the engineering solution and recognised the exceptional safety standards implemented throughout the project.
