Rottnest Island Asbestos Removal & Roof Replacement

PRC Building Services Pty Ltd successfully completed a 10,000m² commercial roof replacement across multiple accommodation blocks, barracks and heritage-listed buildings on Rottnest Island, Western Australia.

PRC Building Services completed a major commercial roof replacement and restoration project across accommodation blocks, barracks and heritage-listed buildings on Rottnest Island.

This large-scale roofing project showcased our expertise in delivering complex commercial, industrial and government roofing solutions in challenging and remote environments.

The project also showcases PRC Building Services’ broader capability in commercial and industrial roofing solutions across Western Australia, including complex and remote-site delivery.

Completed during the island’s quieter winter season to minimise disruption to visitors, the project required meticulous planning and coordination. Every roofing material, piece of equipment and specialised tool was transported to the island by barge. With private vehicles prohibited on Rottnest Island, all on-island logistics were managed in partnership with local authorities to ensure safe and efficient transport of personnel and materials.

To maximise productivity and maintain project efficiency, PRC Building Services established temporary accommodation for our roofing crews and employed a full-time cook to support our workforce throughout the duration of the project. This commitment to workforce welfare allowed our team to maintain exceptional productivity while working in a remote location.

Through careful project management, expert workmanship and efficient logistics, PRC Building Services completed the entire 10,000m² roof replacement one month ahead of schedule and within budget. The successful delivery of this project demonstrates our capability to manage complex commercial roofing, industrial roofing, government infrastructure, heritage roofing and remote mining-style projects throughout Western Australia.
